FAQs

What is the mission of the pretti graffiti foundation?

Our mission is to provide humanitarian aid for adult survivors of non war related childhood torture in the US, while serving as a model for future larger scale humanitarian aid efforts for this population.

How does Ali’s personal story influence the work of the pretti graffiti foundation?

Founder, Ali Davis, is a survivor of intrafamilial childhood torture.
When she realized that what she had been through was torture, she began searching for recovery resources (as one does).
Her exhaustive search turned up nothing. All currently available humanitarian aid for torture survivors in the US (as of autumn 2024) is reserved for people who either survived torture in another country and are now living in the US, and/or survived state-sanctioned torture

How can I donate to the pretti graffiti foundation?

We do not yet have our 501(c)3 designation from the IRS, and our initial fundraising has met our current needs.
Therefore, we are not currently accepting donations and instead recommend that interested donors donate to one of these other worthy causes:

The Trevor Project | The Trevor Project's Mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.

Trans Lifeline  | A peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans & questioning peers.

Veterans Crisis Line | The Military Crisis Line is a free, confidential resource for all service members,
including members of the National Guard and Reserve, and Veterans, even if they’re not enrolled in VA benefits
or health care.

Crisis Text Line | 24/7 Free Confidential Support at your fingertips.

How is my money used once I donate?

Currently, we have raised $443 through our generous individual donors.
This money is allocated to our 501(c)3 application with the IRS which costs $275 to file.
We have other paperwork to file with the IRS and the surplus will be allocated to those filing fees.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Not yet! We are in the process of submitting our 501(c)3 application to the IRS.
As soon as we receive approval, we will notify our donors!
